Investigators have established the causes of death of a worker at a construction site in Krasnoyarsk (video)

In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal investigation into the death of a worker at site of a residential complex under construction along Semafornaya – Vavilova streets.

Let us remind you that the emergency occurred on July 11, 2025. A metal piece of cargo fell from a crane onto a 56-year-old man from a height of 12-13 floors. He died on the spot from his injuries.

According to investigators, the general director and driver of two construction organizations in the city are guilty of the incident.

“The General Director, knowing that his subordinates did not have the necessary training and permission to perform the work, gave instructions to sling auxiliary structures to the tower crane under the control of the driver. At the same time, the manager did not check the reliability of the fastening. In turn, mashinist started moving the cargo without making sure that the metal element was properly strapped and that there were no people in the danger zone,” the Investigative Committee said.

The defendants are charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules during construction work, if this negligently resulted in the infliction of serious harm to human health, resulting in the death of a person through negligence). Currently, the investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base, and therefore the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to court.
