Covid restrictions infringe on the rights of Krasnoyarsk residents, said the deputy of the City Council Ivan Petrov

The deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council from the LDPR Ivan Petrov made a sharp criticism of the authorities, calling them a refusal to remove the covid restrictions on the policy of “double standards”.

Recall that according to the decree of five years ago, Krasnoyarsk residents are prohibited from holding promotions, rallies and any other meetings. However, as the deputy indicated, the rules do not apply to measures that the regional and municipal power organize.

Deputy Ivan Petrov is outraged by the arbitrariness of the authorities, who, at their discretion, decide to whom to hold meetings and who does not have such a right. According to the politician, this is a direct violation of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

“The LDPR is the second party in Russia, we are supported by millions of citizens, we are behind us – tens of thousands of Krasnoyarsk. As Leonid Slutsky says, today more than never before we feel the support of the people. I will achieve compliance with the constitutional rights of my fellow countrymen, ”the deputy said.

Petrov emphasized that referring to covid restrictions, the regional authorities blocked dozens of events that LDPR supporters planned. This seems especially outrageous on the eve of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory.

Krasnoyarsk political scientist Alexander Chernyavsky called the current covid restrictions with obvious anachronism, noting that the Krasnoyarsk Territory remains among single regions where they have not yet been canceled.

“Representatives of the LDPR have repeatedly spoke hard on this topic. The abolition of restrictions has become an integral part of their agenda. The feeling is created that the current state of affairs is quite happy with. And it gives a reason to say that they would be happy to show protest activity, but their hands are connected, ”the expert summed up.
