Trump said South Korea will pay $350 billion to reduce tariffs and build a nuclear submarine in the US

“In addition, they agreed to buy large volumes of our oil and gas, and investments in our country from wealthy South Korean companies and entrepreneurs will exceed $600 billion,” the US President wrote.

According to Trump, the military alliance between the United States and South Korea is “now stronger than ever.”

“That's why I gave them permission to build a nuclear submarine instead of the old-fashioned, much less maneuverable diesel submarines that they have now,” Trump said.

Trump on July 7 announced 25 percent tariffs against a number of countries, including South Korea from August 1. And if they decide to increase their duties on American goods, then Washington will increase theirs by another 25%, the American president threatened. In addition, Trump said that Seoul could avoid tariffs if it moved its factories to the United States.

Earlier, on April 4, the head of the White House said that he was ready to reduce import tariffs if other countries offered him something “phenomenal.”

Trump has been on a tour of South Asian countries since October 24. On October 29, the US President was presented with an order and a crown in South Korea.

The focus of Trump's visit to South Korea will be talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on October 30.
