In Russia, it was proposed to reserve the right of parents to participate in choosing the school menu. RIA Novosti reports this. State Duma deputies approached the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov with such an initiative.

The authors of the appeal propose to make changes to the federal law “On Education in the Russian Federation.” They believe that parents of minor schoolchildren should have the opportunity to influence the choice of food in educational organizations.

There are several ways to select the menu. For example, at a parent meeting of a class or parallel, through a parent council, governing council or other collegial body of the school. Deputies also propose using direct electronic voting of parents through State Services.

According to the authors of the initiative, this will help make school meals more popular, reduce the number of complaints about the menu and increase parental participation in the life of educational organizations. In addition, deputies believe that such a measure will make it possible to more efficiently use the funds allocated for feeding schoolchildren.
