Eugen Tomac meets today with Nicușor Dan / The Prime Minister-designate says he is willing to discuss the appointments that have sparked accusations

Prime Minister-designate Eugen Tomac is going to discuss today with President Nicușor Dan about the steps taken in the attempt to obtain the investiture vote for his Government. In parallel with the negotiations for the 233 necessary votes, Tomac also continues the discussions regarding four important portfolios, where he has not yet determined who can take them over.

Eugen Tomac also had discussions today with unaffiliated parliamentarians, as well as with some of the parliamentarians of the National Minorities. He stated, in the Parliament, after the discussion with the minorities, that he wants to find a compromise together with the political parties to unlock the “extremely complicated situation in which Romania is”, as he stated.

Tomac also rejects the option that the ministers in his cabinet are close to the parties, saying that he is willing to negotiate including the four portfolios, where his choice led to accusations, including from the first vice-president of the PNL Ciprian Ciucu, that they are close to the PSD.

It is about Vladimir Ionaș (proposal for Development), Nicolae Istudor (proposal for Agriculture), Ionuț Mașala (proposal for Transport) and Diana Morar (proposal for Labor).

“I said as clearly as possible that I want this Government to be made up of specialists, people with experience, people who can manage the ministries for which I proposed them. Where there is ambiguity, I am willing to talk to the parties and make changes,” declared the designated prime minister.

What will he discuss with the president

Also today, in addition to the discussions in the Parliament, Tomac will go to Cotroceni, to talk with Nicușor Dan, both about the chances of obtaining a majority in the Parliament, and about the names that will form the possible Tomac cabinet, according to HotNews sources.
