Dutch soldiers encountered suspicious drones during exercises in Poland. The media is sounding the alarm

Dutch media are reporting that Dutch soldiers on training exercises in Poland noticed that their actions were being observed by unknown drones. This was confirmed to the Ministry of Defense by the Dutch Broadcasting Foundation (NOS), following reports in the AD newspaper. The defense spokesman also said that in addition to the unknown drones, communication between soldiers was difficult.
Soldiers were not equipped with drones at that time. Systems to respond to such events were delivered from the Netherlands shortly after the incidents. “There was no immediate threat,” Brigadier General Frank Grandia said. “We are quite far from the border with Russia. We learned from that and adapted immediately.”
In recent weeks, the Aeromobile Brigade has been in Eastern Europe as part of the NATO Falcon Autumn exercise, a large-scale air exercise in which, among others, Poland and the United States. While soldiers were setting up camp at the airport, small drones suddenly appeared.
It is unclear who is behind the drones and communication disruptions. “We know there are people who are extremely interested in what we do and monitor the exercises,” Grandia says. The exercises have been modified but not canceled. Eventually the drones flew away.
Over the past month, Polish airspace has been violated many times by drones coming from the east. “The Polish Armed Forces claim that the drones come from Russia. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied these accusations or has not responded to them,” we read in the NOS material.
