Archaeological work is being completed on Surikov Street in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, the improvement of the streets of the historical center continues. This was reported to the city administration.

Work is underway on the streets of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, Kirov and Surikov. They are being updated for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk.

On Surikov Street, readiness is 9%. Archaeologists have already completed work at the site and are now preparing a final conclusion. The contractor continues to dismantle the old covering, install side stones and bring in paving stones. Work is progressing most actively on Kirov Street. About 19% of the total volume has been completed there. Workers are completing the paving of paving stones on the right side from Karl Marx Street to Mira Avenue.

On the street of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, readiness is 16%. Paving stones are laid in several areas at once. Once the right side is completed, contractors will move to the left. Granite pedestrian ramps are also being installed at intersections. On the streets of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Kirov, external lighting is being updated separately. Specialists are laying cables and installing new supports. On Surikov Street such work will be carried out under the main contract.

“The work is currently on schedule. Now is the most time-consuming stage, the preparatory stage. Dismantling the old coating, installing the base, laying utility networks. But it is the quality of this work that determines how long the updated street will last,” said Nikita Gerasimovich, deputy head of MKU “UDIB” for improvement.

After completion of the improvement, new multi-format paving stones will be laid on the streets, benches, trash cans and bicycle racks will be installed. A bicycle path will also appear on Dictatorship of the Proletariat Street, which will close the central bicycle ring of the city. In addition, the streets will be landscaped. Trees and ornamental shrubs will be planted there.

“Improvement of the streets of the historical center is one of the most significant projects being implemented in our area for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. It is fundamentally important for us that the work is completed on time and with high quality,” noted Dmitry Bezrukikh, head of the Central District Administration.
