A native of Krasnoyarsk, Mirra Andreeva won the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career. In the Roland Garros final, the 19-year-old tennis player beat Poland's Maja Chwalinska with a score of 6:3, 6:2.

On Saturday, June 6, the final of the French Open (Roland Garros) in women's singles between Russian Mirra Andreeva and Polish representative Maja Chwalinskaya took place on the clay courts of Paris. The meeting ended with a score of 6:3, 6:2 in favor of the Russian.

For Andreeva and Khvalinskaya, this was the first Grand Slam final in their careers.

Andreeva is 19 years old. She is the first racket in Russia. In the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, Andreeva is currently ranked eighth in singles. She has eight victories in WTA tournaments (five of them in singles). Previously, the Russian woman’s best result at the TBS was the semi-finals of Roland Garros – in 2024 and 2026. At the Olympic Games in Paris, Andreeva and Diana Schneider became silver medalists in doubles.

Khvalinskaya is 24 years old and ranks 114th in the world rankings. She has no victories in WTA tournaments. The Polish tennis player played in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the third time. Previously, she had not made it past the second round. According to the results of the French Open, Khvalinskaya, who has never previously been among the top 100 best tennis players on the planet, will be in the top 30.

Roland Garros is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments. Competitions are held on a dirt surface. This year, the main draw matches will take place from May 24 to June 8. The prize fund is €61.7 million, the winners of single tournaments will receive €2.8 million.

Among Russian women, Anastasia Myskina (2004), Svetlana Kuznetsova (2009) and Maria Sharapova (2012, 2014) previously won Roland Garros.
