Bielska pointed out that Poland, Lithuania and Latvia spent a total of over EUR 52 billion on defense in 2025, which – as she said – “is 25 times more than Belarus' expenditure.” In her opinion, these countries are deploying systems capable of using Tomahawk cruise missiles. She described these actions as an “imminent threat.”

“The risk of a potential nuclear confrontation in Europe”

The diplomat also stated that some European countries declare their readiness to deploy nuclear weapons of allies on their territory. In her opinion, this leads to “a growing risk of potential nuclear confrontation in Europe.” Bielska noted that there is an ongoing discussion in Europe about “extended deterrence” based on French nuclear forces. She emphasized that Belarus “is ready to act to the extent of its possibilities to prevent this.”

It also supported the idea of creating legally binding security guarantees for countries without nuclear weapons. In her opinion, such guarantees must “take into account contemporary realities and eliminate key risk factors.” She called for dialogue between nuclear states and between them and countries without such weapons. She noted that Minsk remains “attached to effective security mechanisms” and is ready to cooperate with all interested parties. In her opinion, the West's current actions lead to destabilization and increase the likelihood of conflict.
