Trump, about his expectations regarding the meeting with Putin: “I will not make an understanding”

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he hopes to have a “constructive” conversation with the Kremlin leader, Vladimir Putin, on August 15, in Alaska, but admitted that he does not exclude a negative result, reports Pravda.

The US president stressed that the purpose of meeting Putin is to “see what the parameters are.”
Trump said he hopes for a “constructive” conversation with the Russian leader and that he will call European leaders immediately afterwards to inform about the discussion and tell them “what kind of agreement” would be possible.
“I will not make an understanding. I do not want to make an understanding,” he said.
On the other hand, Trump says he “would like to see an armistice” and “the best understanding that can be made for the benefit of both parties.”
The US president believes that, following his meeting with Putin, there is a chance to reach a “very fast” armistice.
“We will treat with European leaders and treat President Zelenski and, hopefully, we will be very successful.”
