A 57-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk will be tried on charges in organizing the illegal stay of foreign citizens on Russian territory.
It has been established that with 2023 man who had financial problems, worked as a taxi driver and among his passengers there were often foreigners. He became interested in how they prepare documents for staying in the country, and after studying information on the Internet, he realized that he could make money from this.
“The man downloaded sample documents and began offering his services to visitors whom he met while working. Those interested were quickly found, and in the spring of 2024, citizens of Kyrgyzstan began calling him. He met with them, took copies of passports and money for paperwork. At first he received 10 thousand rubles, later he set the price – 5 thousand rubles per person. Then he sent documents to the migration authorities for future “workers,” who were supposedly supposed to perform various everyday tasks – help with home repairs, carry out household errands and provide other services. But in fact, these citizens did not do this, but they had reasons to extend their stay in Russia. According to this scheme, in a few weeks documents were drawn up for 10 foreigners, from whom the taxi driver received 55 thousand rubles,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The actions of the Krasnoyarsk citizen were qualified under Part 1 of Art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 2 to 5 years with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles. UThe main case will be considered by the Leninsky District Court of the city.
