Those who spend the day at a computer or with a phone in their hands are familiar with this feeling: in the evening, the shoulders become stone, the back of the head becomes heavy, and turning the head is difficult. This is not due to osteochondrosis or age, the fault is the habit of moving the head forward and static tension of the trapezius muscles, which have ceased to relax naturally.
But you don’t need to sign up for procedures or buy orthopedic pillows. One simple exercise is enough to “reload” the neck muscles and improve blood circulation from the very first time. It only takes 3 minutes and can be done right at your desk.
How to do it:
- Sit straight on a chair, feet firmly on the floor, hands relaxed on your knees.
- Slowly lower your right ear towards your right shoulder without raising your shoulder towards it.
- Stay in this position for 3 seconds, breathe evenly and calmly.
- Smoothly return your head to the center and repeat the tilt to the left shoulder.
- Hold for 3 seconds, then return to the starting position.
- Repeat 10 times on each side at a slow pace.
- Do not pull your head with your hands, do not put pressure on your shoulders, movements should be smooth, like a pendulum. Breathe deeply, do not hold the air.
After just 5–7 days, you will notice that your head becomes lighter in the evening, and your shoulders remain relaxed even after working for a long time at the monitor. Regular practice helps relieve chronic tension and prevent headaches without pills and complex procedures.
