Metinvest handed over SUVs to combat brigades in the Zaporozhye direction


As part of the military initiative “Steel Front” of Rinat Akhmetov, the Metinvest group of companies donated 13 all-terrain vehicles to units that defend Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction. This was reported by the Metinvest website.

“The acting general director of the Zaporizhstal plant, Taras Shevchenko, personally handed over the keys to 13 Peugeot Landtrek vehicles to representatives of the 16th separate support brigade, the 260th separate brigade of the Khortitsa TrO, the 1223rd separate support battalion, the 433rd separate unmanned systems battalion, the Hornets unmanned systems battalion of the 162nd separate mechanized brigade and the 128th separate heavy mechanized brigade “Wild Field,” the message says.

According to the company, UAH 16.5 million was allocated for the purchase of a batch of pickup trucks for the troops.

“A vehicle at the front is a tool for survival and victory. A reliable all-terrain vehicle means evacuation of a wounded person under fire, timely delivery of ammunition, rapid maneuver of a unit and quick withdrawal after completing a mission. Metinvest is not just transferring equipment – we are giving defenders more opportunities to act effectively and return alive. The army’s demand for such vehicles is constant, and we are responding to it,” Shevchenko emphasized.

A serviceman of the 260th separate brigade of the Khortitsa Troops with the call sign Biker said that the main advantages of the vehicles are their maneuverability and maneuverability, which allow them to avoid FPV drones.

“We are sincerely grateful to Metinvest for their systemic support. Vehicles are not just equipment: they allow us to better perform combat missions, rotations, delivery of combat equipment, and evacuation of the wounded. Our battalion distinguished itself in the Zaporozhye direction – perhaps the hottest direction of the front in Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful to all caring people and responsive businesses that help the Ukrainian army defend their native land,” emphasized the driver of the company of the unmanned aerial vehicle complex of the unmanned aerial vehicle battalion Hornets systems of the 162nd separate mechanized brigade with the call sign Jim.
