Darius Olaru (28 years old), the captain of FCSB, declared himself disappointed by the lack of concentration of his colleagues at the end of the “white” draw obtained in Ghencea with Unirea Slobozia, in the penultimate stage of the Superliga play-out.
The champion of the last two editions of the Superliga has only one hope to qualify for the Conference League, and the first step is the tie with FC Botoșani. The winning team will play a new play-off, this time with the 4th place in the play-off.
Darius Olaru challenges the play-out level: “With all due respect”
“It was a game controlled by us. We created some good chances in the first half and at the end of the second, but we couldn't score. Sorry, we move on.
We have one more match before the playoffs, we have to train. We have to keep playing, raise our level. I hope we will be our best version in the match with Botoșani.
It was a tough season, but as long as we have something to fight for we have to be motivated. We must prepare well and be at our best for the match against Botoșani.
We feel like we're creating quite a few chances, we're controlling the game. We need more focus on completion. Honestly, I also played with some opponents, with all due respect, who defended more, stayed as low as possible and tried to play on the counterattack. That was it, we weren't clear at the end”, declared Darius Olaru, at Prima Sport.
Regarding the fact that FCSB returned to Ghencea, Olaru pointed out: “Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win. It's a beautiful stadium, but I've said it in the past, we feel more at home at the National Arena.
Everyone is definitely thinking about the play-off and we know our fans will come and support us. Until then, we have one more match in Sibiu and our focus is on that match”.
