The White House intends to present the peace plan agreed with Russia to Ukraine as a “fait accompli,” Politico reported on Wednesday. Administration officials believe that they are able to persuade the Ukrainian president to accept it due to his weakened position and that they will be able to end the war in November.

According to the website, which cites talks with officials of Donald Trump's administration, the American proposal will be “reasonable” and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will have to accept it, taking into account the deteriorating situation on the front and the corruption scandal concerning his immediate circle.
They feel they can make them (Ukrainians) accept this deal. They say he is reasonable. This is something that, according to them, will be acceptable for Ukraine, said Politico reporter Dasha Burns in the portal's morning podcast. White House representatives believe they are on the verge of a breakthrough in this matter.
The details of the plan – developed during October talks between Vladimir Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev and Trump's envoy – Steve Witkoff in Miami – are still mostly unknown. Axios was the first to write about them on Tuesday evening. The plan is to contain 28 points, and Dmitriev told the portal that he “feels that the Russian position is being listened to” and that the proposal is for a broad deal with America that goes beyond just the war in Ukraine. According to Putin's envoy, the plan is intended to “address the Ukrainian conflict, but also the renewal of U.S.-Russian ties and Russian security concerns.”
According to Politico, the plan was not consulted with either Ukraine or European countries.
– We don't care about Europeans. The point is for Ukraine to accept it, one American official reportedly said.
United States Army Secretary (Minister) Dan Driscoll and Chief of Staff of the Army General Randy George, who went to Ukraine on an unannounced visit, are scheduled to meet with Zelensky in Kiev.
“Secretary Driscoll and his team arrived in Kiev this morning on behalf of the Trump administration on a fact-finding mission to meet with Ukrainian officials and discuss ending the war,” said a statement from the head of the U.S. Armed Forces Press Office, Col. Dave Butler.
Reuters reported that Witkoff will also meet the Ukrainian president in Istanbul on Wednesday.
