The Romanian Naval Forces on Wednesday neutralized a sea mine discovered on the beach between Vama Veche and 2 Mai, MApN said in a press release.

The authorities were alerted around 2:45 p.m. by a call to the single emergency number 112 regarding the presence of the object on the beach between the two towns on the shores of the Black Sea.

According to MApN, the YaRM (anti-landing) sea mine was neutralized at 17.40.

EOD military divers, specialized in the neutralization of explosive devices, moved to the indicated place starting at 15.45, after the representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Dobrogea” applied the measures to secure the area.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Romanian Naval Forces have neutralized nine of the 156 sea mines discovered in the Black Sea basin, according to data provided by the Ministry of Defense.
