Romanian drone manufacturer: We are working on systems that can intercept a Geran. We also have collaborations with MApN

The Cluj-based startup BraveX Aero is currently producing drones capable of intercepting the Russian Geran drone model, which crashed over a block of flats in Galaţi, Răzvan Costea-Bărlutiu, co-founder and co-CEO of the Romanian company, who mentioned that it already has collaborations with the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), told StartupCafe.ro.
“We are several Romanian startups working on anti-drone systems. At BraveX we have a project like this in the works, first of all the Vimana drone, which can be used as an interceptor – it is a reactive drone, which can reach speeds of 500 km/h. So it can intercept such a Geran”, said the Romanian entrepreneur, for StartupCafe.ro.
He specified that BraveX Aero's Vimana drone model can be used as a kinetic interceptor (by hitting the enemy drone), but it would be more effective to use a jamming system on the Romanian drone.
“The interception capabilities can be both kinetic – although we don't want this – that is, simply physically entering a drone. We believe that the capabilities of reusing the interceptors are more important. And in this case, elements such as high power microwaves are used, there are modules that can be installed on such jet drones”, said Răzvan Costea-Bărlutiu.
