Cristian Tudor Popescu criticized the Trump administration, on Friday, in an intervention on B1 TV, and claims that “we live in a decaying world now”, which is heading towards an order that existed “hundreds, even thousands of years ago”, in which “whoever has the bigger stick is right”.
The journalist described this situation as “something rare, unique in human history”.
“I am not exaggerating at all. We live in a decaying world now. Everything that has been built in terms of civilization, in terms of human rights, in terms of international order over decades, even centuries, has now been pulverized. From the moment the United States accepts to recognize the territories occupied by Russia in Ukraine, we are returning to a tribal international order, that is, whoever has the bigger stick is right. order hundreds, even thousands of years ago, we are returning to it,” he declared.
The CTP criticized Donald Trump, saying that the current leader of the White House has a behavior “unique in the history of the presidents of the United States” and questioning the peace efforts of the current administration in Washington.
“Any rules are trampled on. What is, however, the most unusual for me is the humiliation to which the United States is subjected! I mean, Donald Trump, for a year, has consumed presidential time in various situations (…), the result being null from the beginning. What we see now is a grotesque dance”, continued Cristian Tudor Popescu.
Ukraine is “under a triple attack”
Cristian Tudor Popescu said that Ukraine is currently “under attack” both by the president of Russia and the current US administration, but also “by its own rot”, an allusion to the corruption scandal that on Friday led to the resignation of Andrii Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian presidential cabinet.
“Ukraine is currently under a triple attack that, I'm sorry to say, I don't think it's going to withstand. It's under attack from Vladimir Putin, it's under attack from the United States-the Trump administration, with almost as much harshness as Putin's, and it's under attack from its own rottenness, from corruption from within. We're talking about negotiations when Ukraine's chief negotiator, Andrii Yermak, here he is, being investigated for corruption at the highest level level?” added the journalist.
He believes that “Romania must prepare for some dark times”.
“Looking at the external plan, the international plan, Ukraine will give in, this is the most serious. Ukraine will not be able to face, defend Europe for much longer, because that is what it has done so far, and Europe will be in a critical situation, as it has not been since the Second World War. It will have to defend itself, in front of Putin's grins”, Cristian Tudor Popescu also declared.
