Only five of the approximately 25 journalists managed to ask questions at the press conference organized on Thursday by the management of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, after the Recorder documentary.

The President of the Court, Liana Arsenie, abruptly interrupted the press conference, although at least 20 journalists had not had time to ask questions. Only five journalists managed to ask questions to the head of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, including those from Recorder, HotNews, TVR, Pro TV.

The moment came an hour after the start of the press conference and about 20 minutes after Arsenie began to take questions from journalists.

Faced with the reaction of journalists who are not satisfied that they are not allowed to ask the questions, Arsenie said that he thanks the media for their presence, but that “we conveyed what we wanted to convey”.

The journalists present shouted, asking the CAB leadership to also accept the questions of the other journalists.

“Out of respect for us, those who didn't ask the questions, a list was drawn, we stood nicely in line, so what do we do with the others' questions? That's how we feel discriminated too, don't we?”, said one of the journalists when Arsenie and the other members of the CAB management got up to leave the room where the conference took place.

“Please accept questions from us, all of us,” chimed in another journalist.

“Thank you for the press conference”, was Liana Arsenie's reply, which generated another wave of replies from the journalists: “What you are doing is inadmissible”, “It is not disrespect towards us, it is disrespect towards the people who want to know answers to these questions. You owe the people answers to the questions, people who took to the streets”, were the reactions of some journalists.

The press conference began with a shocking moment: a judge took the floor criticizing the leadership of the Court of Appeal, in front of its bosses

In front of her own management, right at the beginning of the press conference, judge Raluca Moroșanu said that the testimony of her colleague who appears in the Recorder documentary, judge Beșu, is authentic.

During the conference, the head of the Court of Appeal, judge Liana Nicoleta Arsenie, said that the press disclosures, especially taken over by TVR, are “public incitement against the constitutional order”. And that he addressed, among others, the CSM.

Arsenie called the Recorder material “Captured Justice” an “artistic film with documentary pretensions”.

HotNews asked the President of the Court if she addressed the CSM and when Minister Cătălin Predoiu communicated an acquittal sentence given by her, when the decision had not even been taken, two months before the pronouncement.

“At that time I did not address the CSM because I did not feel that my reputation or independence was affected,” answered Liana Nicoleta Arsenie.
