Tusk emphasized on Tuesday that Poland signed a similar treaty (on enhanced cooperation and friendship) with France in Nancy a year ago. – This is the strategy we have adopted to tighten cooperation, at the highest diplomatic level, with those countries that really want to strengthen our security, said the Prime Minister.
He added that during work on the treaty with Great Britain, the Polish side sought solutions aimed at “real increase in Poland's security in peacetime so as to prevent possible threats.” He pointed out that both countries are already cooperating closely in helping Ukraine, which – as he stressed – is the reason why it is worth intensifying this cooperation in the field of security and defense. He added that cybersecurity and health security will be an important element of the agreement.

The Prime Minister pointed out that in these unstable times, treaties with countries such as Great Britain and France, as well as the alliance with the United States and the implementation of the SAFE program are intended to ensure Poland's full security. He added that Poland is also talking to Germany about closer cooperation, including military.
