Two tourists rescued after falling 100 meters into a ravine in the Caraiman Massif: “They were very lucky”

Two tourists from Bucharest were recovered, on Sunday, by mountain rescuers after falling approximately 100 meters from Brâna Mare a Caraimanului, in the Bucegi Massif.
Salvamont Prahova informed on Sunday, in a post on Facebook, that it is carrying out an intervention to save two tourists who fell from Brâna Mare a Caraimanului. “We requested the support of the helicopter from POA Brașov, which will take over two mountain rescuers from Salvamont Prahova Cota 1400 Base, to insert them at the scene of the incident”.
According to Salvamont, it is about two tourists from Bucharest, a man and a woman, both aged 57. They were appealed to by the mountain rescuers, after a difficult intervention.
The man was transported by helicopter to the Braşov County Emergency Hospital, with injuries to his shoulder and chest.
“They fell approximately 100 meters from Brâna Mare a Caraimanului. They were very lucky, the female person had minor injuries that did not require hospitalisation, and the male person was diagnosed with scapulo-humeral trauma and thoraco-abdominal trauma, being transported by helicopter to the Brașov County Emergency Hospital”, said Salvamont Prahova.
