Tankers with oil and LNG began to leave the Strait of Hormuz after a long blockage – media

Tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and oil have left the Strait of Hormuz and are heading to Pakistan and China after almost three months of delay. Reuters reported this on May 25, citing data from ship tracking companies LSEG and Kpler.

The LNG tanker Fuwairit crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Monday and is expected to offload its cargo in Pakistan on Tuesday. The Bahamas-flagged vessel loaded LNG at a Qatari port on or about March 28.

The gas transport vessel Al Rayyan is now outside the strait between Iran and Oman. It is expected to unload its cargo in China on June 27.

The oil tanker Eagle Verona, which left the strait on May 23, is expected to arrive at a Chinese port on June 12 for unloading, according to LSEG and Kpler data.

The Singapore-flagged vessel is chartered by Unipec, the trading arm of Asia's largest oil refiner Sinopec. The tanker loaded approximately 2 million barrels of Basrah oil around February 26th.

Eagle Verona was one of seven vessels that Malaysia had sought Iran's permission to transit, two sources previously told Reuters. Five of these vessels have already left the waterway, while two more remain in the Persian Gulf.
