Singer Diana Gurtskaya flew to Krasnoyarsk to support children with visual impairments

23 May 16:30

People's Artist of Russia Diana Gurtskaya met with the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov and spoke about supporting children with visual impairments.

The reason for the visit was the qualifying stage of the White Cane festival, which is hosted by Krasnoyarsk school No. 10. Local schoolchildren and the inclusive vocal ensemble “Right to Happiness” performed at the audition.

“Since the age of sixteen, children from Krasnoyarsk – blind and visually impaired – have been participating in our White Cane festival. Every year more and more of them come. I am very glad that this tradition continues. Our participants from Krasnoyarsk are already performing at other competitions and festivals,” emphasized Diana Gurtskaya.

Separately, the artist spoke about the work of her charitable foundation “At the Call of the Heart” and the Center for Social Integration in Moscow. There they implement 16 creative rehabilitation programs – from vocals and acting to choreography, and Gurtskaya herself conducts individual lessons with students several times a week.

Mikhail Kotyukov thanked the singer for her attention to the Krasnoyarsk children. The governor noted that the attitude of the center’s staff towards children and their parents is admirable and should become an example for others in working with special children.
