The union of the employees in the Government's work apparatus accuses that the chief of Prime Minister Bolojan, Mihai Jurca, asked them to communicate which of the employees participated in the protest organized at the beginning of the week.
The union made public on Thursday, an address of the chief of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Mihai Jurca, asking them to communicate which of the Executive's employees participated on Monday, a demonstration against austerity measures.
Representatives of all the trade union federations took part in that protest, and some of the government employees interrupted their activity and went out to Victoriei Square.
“In order to ensure a good collaboration and the correct application of the labor law in the field, please communicate to us the persons who participated, within the Prime Minister's Chancellery, at the spontaneous strike organized on 15.09.2025 by the Government's work apparatus,” the address sent by Mihai Jurca to the Government employees.

Jurca's answer
Hotnews asked Mihai Jurca a point of view regarding the request made to the union. He responded by citing a decision to the High Court of Cassation and Justice according to which, the individual employment contract of the employees who participate in the strike, but only during the participation in it.
Jurca also transmits that according to the Labor Code, the suspension also attracts with the obligation of the employer to suspend the payment of the salary.
“Basically, the public institutions, including the Prime Minister's Chancellery, are obliged to respect the Labor Code, the Administrative Code, the Civil Procedure Code and to order the suspension of the salary rights during the strike according to the compulsory decision of the High Court of Cassation and Justice no. 5/2025,” said Mihai Jurca for Hotnews.

Government employees interrupted their activity
On Monday, on September 15, employees from the Government work apparatus interrupted the activity and spontaneously protested together with representatives of all the trade union fedes present in Victoriei Square in Bucharest. The protest was generated by the measures to reduce the personnel from public institutions, a measure required by Prime Minister Bolojan.
The trade union federations have drawn attention to the fact that the measures announced by the Executive “create the premises of a generalized blockage in the activity sector, due to the total lack of a real and responsible social dialogue”. They even threatened to trigger the general strike.

They also demanded real analyzes of social and financial impact before any personnel reduction, including the effects on social contributions, budgetary revenues, unemployment and additional costs generated by the outsourcing of public services.
