Israel expelled all activists from the flotilla to the Gaza Strip. Italy demands the punishment of the Israeli minister who humiliated the activists

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that it expelled all foreign activists from the “flotilla (to the Gaza Strip)”, three days after capturing them at sea, reports AFP.

“Israel will not authorize any violation of the legal naval blockade imposed on (the Strip) Gaza“, a spokesman for the ministry, Oren Marmorstein, announced in a statement.
He announced the expulsion – without specifying whether the activists were tried.
Pro-Palestinian activists from the flotilla arrived at Istanbul's international airport on a first plane on Thursday, AFP journalists found, quoted by the News.
Two other flights chartered by the Turkish Foreign Ministry from Ramon Airport, located near Eilat in southern Israel, were due to arrive later.
On the other hand, Italy asked the European Union (EU) on Thursday to impose sanctions on the far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, after he posted a video in which, after the arrest, activists of the flotilla appeared kneeling, with their hands tied and with their heads on the deck of an Israeli Navy ship.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on X that he had requested that the Israeli minister be sanctioned”regarding the unacceptable acts committed against the flotilla, the capture of the activists in international waters and the harassment and humiliation they were subjected to, a violation of the most fundamental human rights”.
