According to the lawyer, the two had intimate relations in the past, but on the day the doctor was killed, he allegedly sexually assaulted the woman.
“There is pressure, there is a previous intimate relationship, there is a relationship that has lasted for at least 2 years and, indeed, there is also a sexual episode that happened on the day of the incident, which was not consensual. It is a difficult case, especially if the investigating body refuses to provide evidence for the defendant”said Andrei Dima, the woman's lawyer, for Observator.
Investigators confirmed that there was a relationship between the 72-year-old doctor and the 39-year-old woman who worked as his housekeeper. However, experts say it does not appear to be a premeditated murder.
“What we want to show or try to prove is the very thesis presented by the defendant, in the sense that there was a conflict, there was an attack and, as a result, we have a legitimate defense”added Andrei Dima.
Sources from the investigation say that the whole episode was so shocking that, after the incident, the woman needed medical treatment, prescribed by psychiatrists.
Until this moment, the investigators have established that, on the evening of March 31, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., the suspect was in the home of the victim, the 72-year-old anesthesiologist, from Sector 3 of the Capital. At some point, she would have attacked the man with a knife. The victim suffered multiple injuries, the most severe being a chest wound that punctured his heart.
