A man was detained by police after, while on a train, he removed his electronic monitoring bracelet, which he was wearing following the issuance of a protection order, and allegedly threw it out the compartment window.
According to the County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Buzău, the law enforcement officers were alerted by the dispatcher about the fact that an alert was generated by the electronic monitoring computer system, notes Agerpres.
“Investigations revealed that, on December 6, while he was on the Bucharest-Buzau train, the man allegedly removed the electronic monitoring bracelet and threw it on the train window, although the protection order required him to permanently wear the electronic surveillance device. In a short time, the man was spotted in the Buzau Station area and, based on the order, the police detained him for a period of 24 hours, for violating the measures ordered by the protection order”, IPJ Buzău sent.
Judicial sources stated for Agerpres that the man would have thrown the electronic bracelet in the area of the Pietroasele bus stop and would have motivated the gesture in front of the authorities by the fact that he did not feel comfortable wearing the device in question.
