A man with a knife was detained in Zhitomir and is suspected of attacking two passers-by. During the check, law enforcement officers found out that the detainee was wanted for allegedly leaving a military unit without permission, the patrol police of the Zhytomyr region reported on Facebook on May 18.
According to police, they responded to a call and noticed a man running across the road with a knife in his hands. At their request, the alleged attacker gave up his weapon, after which he was detained.
Not far from the scene of the incident, patrol officers found a wounded citizen who had lost a lot of blood. He was treated and hospitalized. Subsequently, it became known about another wounded person – he was also taken away by ambulance.
Law enforcement officers found out that the suspect is wanted as a person who left the military unit without permission. He was informed of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine at once: Part 1 of Art. 115 (attempted murder) and part 2 of Art. 15 (attempted criminal offence).
