The private museum of retro cars and motorcycles in a hangar on Parashutnaya in Krasnoyarsk may stop working on June 1. The owner of the collection, Alexander Knapnugel, told the Prima TV channel that he no longer has the funds to maintain and restore the cars.

The museum contains almost 130 pieces of equipment – cars and trucks, official vehicles, as well as motorcycles. Knapnugel has been restoring cars at his own expense for 13 years, but now, he says, he has run out of steam. Income from ticket sales – about 80 thousand a month – does not even cover half of the restoration costs.

According to the collector, officials last visited the museum in November 2024. Then Governor Mikhail Kotyukov instructed to study the issue of acquiring the museum and transferring the property into state or municipal ownership. But the matter never moved forward. Knapnugel assessed the collection – it amounted to 56 million rubles.

Not all equipment in the hangar belongs to the owner. About 50 cars and 15 motorcycles are the property of his partners. If the museum closes, they will also have to be sold or exported to other regions.

The regional Ministry of Transport told journalists that they learned about the possible closure from the press and promised to study the issue. For now, the museum is open as usual, but only until June 1.
