Superliga, buried in the snow! How the matches in Romania would look in an extreme winter scenario

The domestic championship is on a competitive break, but the imagination does not take a vacation. Inspired by the winter outside and the memory of legendary matches played on snow, photojournalist Dan Filipciuc transformed, with the help of artificial intelligence, photos from the current season.
The Superliga is on vacation until January 16, when FC Argeș and FCSB will open the new year 2026. Until then, Dan Filipciuc, one of the photojournalists who does not miss a single stage and is present at matches in the stadiums, has transformed his photos taken during the current season.

Dan Filipciuc is a member of the Romanian Sports Press Association, but also of the International Sports Press Association. He photographed hundreds of football and tennis matches, also participating in dozens of events.
The photographer used “the pictures I took at the matches I went to” and, with the help of artificial intelligence, “I turned them like they were playing in the snow”he says for GSP.
“Seeing the snow outside reminded me of the famous UEFA Cup match between Steaua and Villarreal. As we don't often see matches played in big snow anymore, I decided to create my own version”Dan wrote in an Instagram post.
“I've reinterpreted some recent photos, adding a strong wintery feel to them. It's a fun 'What if?' for the current season”he added.
This is not Dan's first “experience” of this kind. He also turned photos taken by him into rain. “Standing in the rain for 90 minutes isn't always fun, but you can't deny that it makes games that much more interesting. The rain adds a whole other layer to the game, both through the goal and from the stands,” was the photojournalist's message.
