Governor Mikhail Kotyukov chaired a meeting of the regional organizing committee to prepare the finals of the International Olympiad on Financial Security in Krasnoyarsk. The event will take place in the regional capital from September 27 to October 2, 2026.
The government recalled that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is hosting the Olympiad for the second year in a row – the high level of organization of last year’s event allowed it to once again receive the right to host the finals. The qualifying stage has already been completed: about 20 thousand participants from around the world have passed the selection and will compete for victory in the final in Krasnoyarsk. According to Rosfinmonitoring, this year five countries are holding their own national Olympiads on financial security.
The central theme of the final week of the Olympics in the fall is the risks and threats of using artificial intelligence in the field of financial security. Venues have been identified for competitive, business, cultural and sports programs, as well as accommodation for participants and guests. One of the new ones will be the National Center “Russia” on the Yenisei.
“It’s a great honor to host the Olympic final for the second time. This is the most important event for both the country and the region. The Olympics are the culmination of all our work on financial education, but not the only event in this chain. During the year there will be a shift at Biryusa, a summer school at the university, a regional family financial festival, and a people's university for the older generation. And the result is visible: the volume of crimes using digital technologies is declining. I am sure that this is also a consequence of more responsible and competent behavior of residents,” Mikhail Kotyukov emphasized.
Let us remind you that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is actively conducting educational work: about 4,500 lessons on financial security were given to students from 750 schools. Nationwide, more than 3 million high school students took part in such lessons this year. Also in July, a summer school will be held in the Krasnoyarsk Territory with the participation of 120 schoolchildren from five countries.
