From May 15 to 17, Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk and Zheleznogorsk will host the environmental campaign “Tyre Covers.” Residents will be able to hand over old car tires, after which they will be sent for specialized recycling, Gorod Prima reports.
The promotion is specially carried out in the spring, when motorists change tires and often do not know where to put their old tires. The organizers remind you that you cannot throw them away near trash cans, in ravines or garage areas. Tires belong to hazard class IV waste. They should not be left in municipal solid waste containers. They do not decompose for a long time, when burned they release toxic substances and can become part of illegal landfills.
- In Krasnoyarsk, the action will be held on May 17 from 10:00 to 13:00 in the parking lot on Red Square.
- In Zheleznogorsk from May 15 to 17 on the street. Krasnoyarskaya, 9, building 2.
- In the village The Podgorny collection point will operate on the same days at the corner of Borovaya and Stroitelnaya streets.
- In Divnogorsk on May 15 from 9:30 to 16:00 and on May 16 from 9:00 to 15:00 at the address: Trade Port, Nizhny Proezd, 12/2.
“It is important for us not just to collect tires, but to show where they go after delivery, who accepts them and why specialized processing is needed. Transparency of the process builds trust,” noted Daria Yakovleva, director of the environmental movement.
Let us remind you that after recycling, old tires are reused. Crumb rubber is made from them, which is used for coverings on sports and children's playgrounds, as well as for the production of other products.
