Native of Krasnoyarsk Mirra Andreeva, paired with Diana Schneider, made it to the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome.
According to the publication gornovosti.ru, in the quarterfinals the Russians beat Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan and Eizha Muhammad from the USA. The match ended with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 11:9 and lasted 1 hour 28 minutes.
In the semi-finals, Andreeva and Schneider will meet the pair of Storm Hunter (Great Britain) and Jessica Pegula (USA).
In singles, the former Krasnoyarsk player lost to American Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals.
