Surgeons Krasnoyarsk regional Oncology dispensary conducted an unusual operation of a 76-year-old patient, deleting two malignant neoplasms at once.

It is reported that at first the woman turned to the clinic at the place of residence with complaints of blood in the urine. The examinations showed the presence of her tumors – kidneys and bladder.
Specialists of the oncoralology department of oncology dispensary conducted a simultaneous operation. At the first stage, a transurethral resection was performed – with a minimum volume of intervention through the urethra, a tumor of the bladder was removed, retaining the organ. Then, laparoscopic nephrectomy was carried out – changing the patient's position, the surgeons through the punctures removed the kidney along with the tumor.
In total, the pensioner spent 1.5 hours on the operating table.
“Synchronously discovered primary-many malignant neoplasms, that is, the independent occurrence and development of one patient in two or more formations that have different histological origin, is not too frequent,” said the oncologist Dmitry Dashanov. – The one -time minimally invasive surgical treatment of the patient contributed to the more easy course of the postoperative period. The very next day after the operation, she was able to move independently and eat. The postoperative period was stable, now the woman has already been discharged. ”
It is noted that in 2024, in the structure of oncological diseases of residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, malignant neoplasms of the kidneys were in 8th place (4.1% of all identified), and the bladder – at 13 place (2.6%).
