Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu (45) is confident that his team can win the Coppa Italia final after the Nerazzurri clinched the Serie A title with 3 rounds to go before the end of the season.

On Wednesday evening, Inter will compete in the “Olimpico” in the final of the Italian Cup in the company of Lazio. In the previous round of Serie A, Inter beat Lazio in Rome with a score of 3-0.

Cristi Chivu, confident before the Italian Cup final: “A trophy to win”

We expect a different game than Saturday. It will be a very difficult game. They have many class players, tactically they are a very stable team. It is a final, a trophy to be won, and the mentality will be different. They will be backed by their home crowd, which is an advantage they didn't have last Saturday. We deserved the Scudetto, we deserved to reach the final of the Cup and we hope to win it”, said Cristi Chivu, according to sportal.bg.

The Romanian technician also spoke about the situation of the striker Marcus Thuram: “He is good and we will see if he will be ready for tomorrow. Today he trained with the team, we have one more day to see how he feels to decide.”

Cristi Chivu: “I know we are not perfect and we are trying to develop”

“The boys have a fundamental credit for the good performance and for the Scudetto. Because even in the difficult moments, like every day, but also match after match, they reacted well both in the good and the difficult moments. I know we are not perfect and we are trying to develop. Our job was to help them not to go off the rails, both in good and bad moments.

We deserved to have an extraordinary season and we have to be as calm and focused as possible. We must enter the field with a great desire to win, to rejoice, but also to fulfill our tasks. It won't be easy, but we know that.

I'm happy for the boys. I am happy to have found a team that has the same ambitions as me. The strength of this team is to understand what we stand for, what club we are, what has been achieved in the last five years, where this team always wins or finishes second, and has played in three European finals. These are things that were quickly forgotten.

This team gave me ambition, I know the reality of Inter, as it was when I was a footballer. I tried all the time to be calm and to be as ready as possible to fight on all fronts, as these players and this club are used to”, concluded Cristi Chivu.
