StartUp Coach: The competition slide – it's not about who I am, it's about why I can't stop you

There is one slide in almost every deck that looks the same: a table. On the columns — the competitors. Line by line — a list of features. All competing companies have something ticked, something left blank. The presenting startup ticks all the boxes. The default conclusion: we are better because we do more things.

This table does not convince any serious VC investor. And not because he's factually wrong — but because he's answering the wrong question.
