Raiffeisen Bank is one step away from taking over Garanti Bank Romania from the Spanish group BBVA, if the transaction is completed and approved by the central bank and the competition authority. According to Profit.ro sources, the Austrians' offer is currently preferred by BBVA over those submitted by competitors and can be designated the winner if there is no last-minute surprise.
