There is a PKW decision on the presidential election. “Events could affect the result”

Six PKW members were in favor of accepting the document, one voted against, while two abstained. Among the accepted corrections was a record that “during voting – especially on the day of the second round – there were events that could have influenced the final result of the election. The National Electoral Commission transfers the assessment of the importance of these incidents to the Supreme Court ” – the adopted amendment by Ryszard Balicki, a lawyer and a member of the PKW.
The content of the document indicates, among others for the use by some members of the regional election commissions Unfirmed software for informal verification of certificates entitling to vote. It was also noted that recurring errors appeared in the protocols of some committees, including incorrect assignment of the number of votes cast for individual candidates.
As emphasized in the report, the repetition of these shortcomings indicates the need for a detailed analysis of their causes and nature.
The decision on the validity of the election will be made by the Supreme Court
Among the submitted and adopted changes, there was also a suggestion that “all election protests and a decision regarding the validity of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland should be considered by the Supreme Court, whose status does not raise doubts – both in terms of compliance with the constitution, as in international standards.” Five members of the committee supported this amendment, and four were against.
In total – as the chairman of the PKW said, Sylwester Marciniak – The document has 37 pages and takes into account all adopted corrections.
The Supreme Court, after analyzing the reported electoral protests and reading the PKW documentation, will decide on the validity of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland.
According to the regulations, it has 30 days from the announcement of election results. This means that the latest date when the verdict should be issued is July 2 this year.
