In Krasnoyarsk, they have begun installing traffic lights on the roundabout along Kalinin Street. The mayor of the city, Sergei Vereshchagin, announced the start of work on his Telegram channel. According to him, this should be the first step towards reducing traffic jams on the part of Minino and Elite.
The decision to install traffic lights was made in March after requests from residents. Krasnoyarsk residents raised this issue both on the city leader’s social networks and during an open meeting in the district. The traffic lights are planned to be launched in May.
In addition, the authorities intend to comprehensively change the organization of traffic on the site. In the summer, the public transport stop will be moved here, the location of the pedestrian crossing will be changed and the area in front of the roundabout on the Bugach side will be expanded – from two to three lanes.
The mayor's office is also monitoring the issue of installing another traffic light before entering the roundabout from Pashenny. They promise to start work in the near future.
