21-year-old man, electrocuted after boarding a train in Busteni Station. He was taken by the SMURD helicopter in serious condition

A serious incident took place on Monday in Busteni Station. A 21-year-old man electrocuted himself after climbing onto a train carriage. He suffered multiple injuries and burns on the anterior and posterior chest, being intubated by the medical crews.

Fire crews and a medical crew intervened on the scene, and a SMURD helicopter was also requested to pick up the victim, according to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Prahova.
The young man boarded an empty oil product transport car and allegedly came into contact with the railway electrical network. Following the incident, he suffered multiple injuries and burns on the anterior and posterior chest, being intubated by the medical crews.
“The victim, a 21-year-old man, was picked up by the SMURD helicopter crew. He has burns on the anterior and posterior chest, he was intubated and will be transported to a hospital unit”, transmitted ISU Prahova.
Initially, two fire trucks with water and foam, as well as a SMURD ambulance, intervened on the scene. In parallel, the authorities acted to de-energize the railway line, under safe conditions, with the help of a crane.
The authorities are continuing their investigations to establish exactly the circumstances in which the incident occurred.
