The prosecutor, assisted by policemen, demanded on Thursday at the NBP headquarters to issue documents regarding the MPC in connection with the investigation of suspected disclosure of classified information about the “secret” clause – the National Bank of Poland said. According to the bank, these activities were inconsistent with the standards.


“The National Bank of Poland informs that on June 12, 2025, in connection with the investigation into suspected disclosure of classified information about the clause +secret +, Mr. Andrzej Piaseczny, prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, assisted by three police officers, at the headquarters of the Central Bank, demanded the issue and received specific documents regarding the Monetary Policy Council” – said the National Bank of Poland in a Thursday communication.
The Central Bank emphasized that it is a “transparent institution, operating on the basis of and in the limits of the law.” He added that “all expected documents were prepared and would be made available in the right form and in the appropriate mode.”
“The prosecutor's office was taking the above activity: inadequate to its purpose and character, incompatible with the principles of procedural economy and did not correspond to the adopted standard of proceedings in other matters of similar kind” – emphasized the NBP and announced that he would notify the European Central Bank in this case.
