Union leader Noni Emil Iordache claims major salary discrepancies in the budget system and claims that employees in government institutions are being ignored when discussing salary increases.

The statements were made during an intervention on Antena 3 CNN, where the union representative spoke about the situation of some employees in the Government's work apparatus who, according to him, have salaries considered too low for the level of responsibility they have.

“It is not normal for the Government of Romania to have salaries of 4,500 lei”said Noni Emil Iordache, giving as an example the position of senior advisor within the Government. He also claimed that even researchers from the Doping Control Laboratory do not earn more than 5,500 lei.

The union leader accused the Government of treating the budget categories differently and asked the Prime Minister to adopt a balanced approach towards all public sector employees.

“The prime minister must be everyone's prime minister and stop emphasizing the discrimination between budget categories”, he declared.

“It seems that the prime minister does not know that there is also performance in the Government, but he is contradicted by Minister Pâslaru, who states that over time Romania, through the apparatus of workers in the public system, helped and implemented programs that attracted 108 billion euros”. said the union leader.

The trade unionists also complain about the fact that even the institutions of the Government's work apparatus that obtain their own income are excluded from possible salary increases.
