In the stations in Bucharest, standard diesel was sold for about 9.94 lei per liter, and standard gasoline for 9.12 lei per liter. For LPG, the price was approximately 4.32 lei per liter. Premium fuels continued to be even more expensive: premium diesel reached 10.45 lei per liter in some stations, and premium gasoline 9.82 lei per liter, according to gazonline.ro.

The development comes in the context of oil prices falling on international markets. Brent crude for July delivery fell 1.26 percent to around $113 a barrel on Tuesday, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) lost 2.12 percent to $104.16 a barrel. On Monday, both benchmarks were up strongly, up around 6% for Brent and 4% for WTI.

Fluctuations are driven by geopolitical tensions and global supply risks, particularly amid uncertainties over the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts warn that although global oil stocks are not at critical levels, their uneven distribution and rate of decline could create regional supply problems.

“Global oil stocks are not yet at extremely low levels, but the pace of declines and uneven distribution across regions raise concerns about localized shortages”Goldman Sachs conveyed, in a recent analysis, cited by vietnam.vn.

For his part, Chevron CEO Mike Wirth drew attention to the risks in the market, stating that “fuel shortages are a growing concern in some regions of the world”given that energy transport routes remain affected by geopolitical tensions.
