Greenland's prime minister is asking residents to prepare for a possible American invasion

The Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, is issuing an unprecedented warning: the island's inhabitants must prepare for a possible American invasion, amid tensions caused by US President Donald Trump.

Greenland's prime minister has warned that the island's population and authorities must start preparing for the possibility of a military invasion as Donald Trump continues to threaten to take control of the territory.
“A military conflict is unlikely, but we cannot rule out an invasion”said Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen in a press conference, according to themirror.
Jens-Frederik Nielsen pointed out that Greenland is part of NATO and that any escalation would have global consequences.
Denmark has sent troops to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland's main international gateway, to bolster the island's security.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also reiterated support for Greenland's sovereignty and stated that “the most difficult time may still be ahead”.
Several European NATO states have stepped up military exercises and troop presence in the Arctic, reaffirming the alliance's unity and commitment to protecting the territory.
Donald Trump has threatened 10% tariffs on several European countries, including Britain and Denmark, if they do not support the sale of Greenland.
