William, Prince of Wales of Great Britain and his wife, Kate Middleton, published on Instagram the traditional Christmas card. The two appear with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, according to the BBC.
The image shows William and Catherine sitting on the grass, surrounded by spring daffodils, with their children. “We wish you all a very Merry Christmas,” was the message sent by the royal couple on Instagram.
The photo was taken by photographer Josh Shinner in Norfolk in April and reflects the closeness between the family members. It is a millennial vision of a more relaxed monarchy, writes the BBC.
The Christmas card marks another stage in Kate Middleton's gradual return to public life as she continues her recovery from cancer treatment and chemotherapy. In January, the princess announced that she was in remission.
William and Kate are spending the winter holidays together and are expected to join the King and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham in Norfolk on Christmas Day.
