“It's hard with consistency.” Ilie Bolojan, about the scenario of a PSD-AUR government with Sorin Grindeanu as prime minister: “I would not accept such statements”

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Friday that he does not trust the statements of the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, in the context of the scenario of a PSD-AUR government with the president of the social democrats as prime minister, if next week's censure motion passes.

Bolojan emphasized that in March the leader of the social democrats conveyed that there would be no collaboration with AUR, and now he made a motion together with this party.

“If I were to go by Mr. Grindeanu's statements, I would find that in March, when he was in Brussels, he made a statement that there would be no collaboration with the AUR, and a month later we find that they signed a motion of mutual agreement. I would not go by statements like this, considering what has happened so far. It is difficult with consistency and it is good to see what will happen in the next period”, said Ilie Bolojan in a conference in press in Suceava, asked if he sees a PSD-AUR government with Sorin Grindeanu as prime minister possible, according to News.ro.

Regarding a possible proposal for him to be prime minister, Sorin Grindeanu stated that he will not back down if his PSD colleagues identify this scenario as a solution.

“PSD does not run away from the scenario of taking over the government. PSD will nominate a prime minister if this is the solution that emerges during the consultations. If my colleagues propose me, I have no hesitation. I am confident that a solution will be found quickly. I would like the current coalition to be preserved”, said Grindeanu a day ago on Antena 3 CNN.

Asked repeatedly by the moderators if AUR is an extremist party, Grindeanu refused to answer on the grounds that “he does not make characterizations”.

If the motion of censure fails in the Parliament vote, PSD will do an internal analysis and his resignation is not excluded, said Sorin Grindeanu.

He ruled out a government with AUR or supporting a minority if the no-confidence motion against Ilie Bolojan passes.
