Unexpected development on the fuel market. What are the prices now for diesel and gasoline in the main distribution chains

Gasoline is becoming more expensive than diesel in most distribution stations in Romania, and at others the difference is very small, writes Economica.net. At Rompetrol, the price difference between the two fuels is now 29 banis per liter, the largest of all networks.

On Thursday morning, Rompetrol lowered the price of diesel by 10 bani per liter and maintained the price of gasoline, according to the data on the company's website, cited by Economica. Thus, in Rompetrol stations, diesel now costs 9.24 lei per liter, being the lowest price in Romania for this type of fuel.

The price of diesel has stagnated – or decreased in recent days, in the case of the Rompetrol chain – while gasoline has tripled in price. The previous diesel price was on Tuesday.

The move can be considered surprising, given that Romania produces enough gasoline, from which it is exported, but not enough diesel, the most consumed fuel, which is imported, writes Economica.
