The former leader of the UDMR, Csaba Takacs, died in an accident, the president of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, announced on Friday. About 70 years old, the former president of the political formation died after being caught under a tractor, according to News.ro and Observator News.

“Csaba Takács died in a tragic accident. An incomprehensible phrase. You never think you'll get to say it,” wrote Kelemen Hunor, in a message published on Facebook.

“Firefighters from the Gherla Work Station intervened, a few moments ago, in the town of Corneni, Aluniş commune, where it was reported that a man was trapped under a tractor”, ISU Cluj reported on Friday.

“The forces found the victim trapped under the tractor that had attached an agricultural machine. Unfortunately, the approximately 70-year-old man was declared dead,” the firemen also specified.

“Personally, I owe a lot to Csaba Takács: he was my mentor, a tireless fighter from whom I had something to learn and a loyal friend,” Kelemen Hunor said.

In the message published on Facebook, Kelemen Hunor described Csaba Takacs as his mentor, but also “the eternal executive president of RMDSZ”.

“He was the great witness of great times, the maker of history, the eternal executive president of RMDSZ, the president of the Communitas Foundation, and above all the heart of our community, the conscience of our Federation. He was our eternal comrade in battle.

Many, many people knew who she was, but there were many others whose lives she helped in so many ways without knowing her name. Personally, I can thank Csaba Takács a lot: he was my mentor, the greatest fighter, from whom I could learn, the most loyal friend,” the UDMR leader wrote.
