Several people were transported to the hospital after a bus hit Victoria Street on Thursday, a crowded street in London, Sky News reports.

The accident took place around 08.20 in the morning, a spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said. Numerous ambulance crews, paramedics, as well as police cars intervened on the spot.

No one died, no arrests were made, but an investigation was launched to determine the cause of the accident, the Metropolitan Police said. The London authorities did not announce an exact balance about the number of injured people.

What the witnesses say

“The bus came from Westminster. There were about 15-16 people on the bus.

Another eyewitness said: “I heard a strong bump. I went out and saw a woman lying on the floor, surrounded by a lot of people. Many people at the gym have run out.”

A border of diesel that stretched on Allington Street forced the police to prohibit smoking in the area, due to fears about an incident.

Rosie Trew, the head of the TFL bus transport service, said that “we collaborate with the police and the UK transport operator to urgently investigate this incident.”
