Kyle Nagy, an American accused by the US authorities of a serious cryptocurrency fraud, moved to Russia and was previously supposed to be in Dubai – Radio Swoboda reports, based on the findings of the investigative portal Sistema. The Russian-based businessman is believed to be the creator of the Utah-based cryptocurrency exchange SafeMoon, which was founded in 2021. The company created the SafeMoon (SFM) token, which was traded on the blockchain. Two years later, he was accused of money laundering and fraud amounting to approximately USD 200 million. The fraudsters were later to spend the money they obtained on purchasing luxury houses and cars.
According to the findings of journalists from Sistema, Kyle Nagy fled the country just before the arrest warrant was issued. Not all of his team made it. One of his associates was sentenced in February this year to over eight years in prison. Meanwhile, Nagy was to go with his family to Dubai, where he bought a luxurious villa by the sea worth approximately USD 1.7 million.

In the UAE, Nagy became friends with Russian businessman Alexander Kopenkin, who later helped him move to Moscow in April 2024. There, he was to rent a luxurious villa in one of the western districts of the Russian capital.
A dispute later broke out between the American and the Russian businessman over investments, which eventually moved to court. According to Sistema's findings, it was a new venture related to cryptocurrencies.
